Mozambique Cities Towns Attractions:Massinga Town And Maxixe Town
Lying north of Maxixe near the turn off to Morrungulo is Massinga, where there is a very colorful market and some interesting carpentry shops. If you are to travel in your own vehicle, you should take note that one of the best mechanics around has his workshop in this town. Massinga has a petrol station and a few shops.
MAXIXE TOWN.
Maxixe usually pronounced as 'ma-sheish', was named after an African chief and is located across the bay from Inhambane on the main highway linking south and central Mozambique. It serves as the commercial centre for the region and although it doesn't have the charm of Inhambane, there are shops, petrol stations and places to eat.
Throughout the day dhows and ferries make their way between the two towns carrying people and their goods to and from work. The drive from Inhambane to Maxixe is a much longer round trip of about 60 kilometers.
