This is a small town, sleepy fishing village in the sprawling style of Vilankulo. For northbound travellers it's the last coastal resort on the mainland, but you might find yourself spending a good few days because of the city’s beaches and atmosphere.

Fishermen and a couple of old hotels dating back to colonial times are the heart of this small mainland settlement, which is directly opposite Bazaruto on the northern side of the Bazaruto Archipelago. Hotel Seta is right on the beach with chalets and a restaurant set beneath tall mahogany trees. It has a sleepy atmosphere, good food and not very expensive.
