Day 1: Arrival
On arrival, you will be picked by our company professional drive/guide that
will transfer you to the Addis   Ababa hotel for overnight stay.
Day 2: Addis Ababa – Awash National Park
Early morning, drive south down the Rift Valley we turn east at Mojo to
Nazareth, for lunch. After lunch, proceed to the park for a game drive. Almost
50 kinds of large mammals are found in the park, including Greater and Lesser
Kudu, wild pig, Menelik’s Bushbuck, Soemmering's gazelle, and various
predators including lions, leopard and cheetah, although these are rarely seen.
The park is too ideal for birders for it hosts about 400 species of bird. These
have been recorded in this savanna grass land including: the Abyssinian roller,
Abyssinian ground horn bill, buff crested bustard, the endemic white tailed
swallow, orange billed parrot, dark chanting goshawk, pygmy falcon, lilac
breasted roller kori bustard, Ruppell’s vulture, honey guide, woodland
kingfisher, black shouldered kite, white and crowned rosy patch shrike, lappet
faced and carmine bee eater .
After visiting the Awash River and Falls returning to the Kerayou Lodge for
dinner and overnight stay. Alternative accommodation could be sought at
Nazareth
Day 3: Awash National Park – Addis Ababa
Take an early morning game drive and then return to the lodge for breakfast.
Drive into the park and visit the Filwoha Hot Springs, where guests can take a
hot bath. Then proceed to the Fentale crater, which still shows signs of
activity with mocking steam vents. Lunch en route in Nazareth, arriving late
afternoon in Addis Ababa.
